since graduating with honors in English from Northwestern in 1993. 

I tutor and coach study skills, organization skills, reading comprehension, speed reading, writing, college applications and college application essays, English/English AP, science, history and other humanities-related subjects.

Whether they are labeled “gifted,” “ADD” or anything in between, all the students I’ve worked with are creative, smart, and competent. Without exception, they all want to be more self aware, more assertive, and more kind to themselves and others.

Teenagers want a chance to learn effective psychological techniques in a safe, approachable setting. Coaching gives them that chance. Using their struggles with school, friends, and themselves as a place to practice new approaches, I help people from age ten to twenty develop self-empowering emotional capabilities that will last a lifetime.

Whether as a private tutor and academic coach, or specifically as a life coach, I use every session as an opportunity to help teenagers succeed authentically, in school and in life, as whole human beings.
